Autumn arriving Maple Lodge

Yesterday and this morning I took in a couple walks to the lodge ,the sun was warm even around 0900 hrs as I strolled to the reserve,of note a chiff chaff  sub call was heard and brief views of
willow warblers amongst hawthorn and oak was pleasant enough.Moving around the reserve I failed
to see the reported Green sandpiper and Red crested pochard yesterday,in the paddock I saw a young
Green woodpecker leave its nest hole, but generally it was fairly quiet,so I made my way back to the Club house where at the feeding station I was pleasantly surprised as a male Sparrowhawk obliged
looking for a mid morning snack.
