Sunday morning walked to the lodge as some of us were being presented with prizes
for the Olympics photo competition first prize was for captioned "Gold in Fencing" was male
goldcrest displaying to females on a fence ,runner up was yours truly with a kingfisher"In the
starting blocks" and third a "High jump" rabbit,after this Derek took us for a walk around the
reserve.A poor picture of a distant Lesser Redpoll at the top of an Alder was a poor start.Red
kites were circling Lynsters farm .
Big flocks of Corvids present also a big flock of mixed Rock and Stock doves took off as I
walked up the hedge.
Finally on the return a spendid goldcrest would not keep still so I got a flight shot instead.
Just before reaching the Club house a goldfinch perched beautifully for me.
At the club house a glass of mulled wine and mince pies ended a lovely morning.
