Marsh Harrier at Maple Lodge

Thought a walk to the reserve yesterday would be good met Kay Marriot and made our way to the
Shell hide where we had a reasonable view of the female Marsh Harrier.
Although briefly a great record we then noted some breeding Little Grebe amongst a host
of wildfowl.
Only an hour at the reserve the butterfies were showing well near the paddock along
with Grey Wagtails.
I then made my way to Stockers GP where a Black Swan was on Bury GP.
Finally from the Kingfisher hide I saw a Little Egret along with Grey Heron,
and along the River Colne a fleeting glimpse of Kingfisher and juvenile Reed
Warbler.
